Terms of Service
Effective Date: 8 October 2026
1. Introduction & Overview
These Terms of Service govern the use of the TradeMatch Direct website and matching platform (operated by TradeMatch Direct). By requesting a quote as a customer or claiming enquiries as an independent contractor, you agree to these Terms.
2. Service Description for Customers & Homeowners
- Introductory Platform Only: TradeMatch Direct acts solely as an introductory conduit connecting homeowners with independent local tradespeople and specialists.
- 100% Free & No Obligation: Submitting a quote request on TradeMatch Direct is completely free of charge. You are under no obligation to hire any tradesperson who contacts you.
- Independent Contracts: Any agreement, contract, warranty, or financial transaction for physical trade work is strictly between you and the independent contractor. TradeMatch Direct is not a party to such contracts and does not oversee, warranty, or supervise physical trade works.
- Due Diligence: While we verify contact credentials and public registrations, customers should always inspect relevant certifications (e.g. Gas Safe, NICEIC), verify public liability insurance, and obtain written quotes prior to authorizing works.
3. Terms for Independent Trade Contractors
- Exclusivity: Customer contact details are provided exclusively to one contractor per enquiry to prevent spam calling and preserve high customer conversion.
- Lead Fees & Stripe Billing: Where enquiry fees apply, transactions are processed securely via Stripe. Paid leads are non-refundable once unlocked, except where the customer phone number is disconnected or completely unreachable within 48 hours of purchase.
- Prompt Response Standard: Contractors who claim customer enquiries agree to make initial contact within reasonable business hours and provide upfront, clear pricing.
- Privacy Compliance: Contractors receiving customer details must strictly process that data solely for the requested quote and comply with the UK Data Protection Act 2018 and UK GDPR.
4. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by English law, TradeMatch Direct shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, loss of profits, property damage, or disputes arising from trade services arranged through our introductory platform.
5. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
